BBQ Sauce Grandpa’s Way

Prep time:  Hands on time about 10 minutes; up to 2 hours to cook
2 cups all-natural ketchup
6 tablespoons dark brown sugar
½ cup apple cider
½ cup vinegar
4 tablespoons all-natural granulated sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon chipotle powder
A pinch of coarse salt and a grind of fresh pepper

Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl with one cup water; then transfer to a sauce pan over high heat. Bring to a boil and let simmer for up to 2 hours.   This recipe makes enough BBQ sauce to use on lots of different sides and sandwich toppings, so have some airtight containers set aside to jar it up!

There's something about the time around May-June where I start looking for new BBQ sauces. This one looks like a keeper! Will post results as soon as it is tried:)
