Orange Laced Green Beans in Wine Sauce

Servings: 4 to 6

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

1 pound fresh green beans, about 4 cups
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 medium cloves garlic, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
½ cup white wine
Juice of ½ medium orange (about 2 to 3 tablespoons)
Zest of ½ medium orange (about 1 tablespoon)
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Steam the green beans in a stovetop steamer or microwave oven, until just crisp-tender, about 3 to 4 minutes. Drain.

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Cook the garlic in the olive oil for 2 minutes.
Add the drained green beans to the pan. Pour in the wine and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Stir in the orange juice and zest. Season with salt and pepper.
