Fluffy buttermilk Biscuits

Yield: 12 biscuits
Preparation Time: 20 minutes plus baking

4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks), cut into pieces
2 cups buttermilk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Place the flour, baking powder, soda, slat and sugar into the bowl of a food processor. Pulse to combine

Place the butter into the bowl. Pulse until the mixture resembles course crumbs.

Add the buttermilk and pulse until just combined. The dough will be sticky.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.

Use fingers to pat the dough ton 1-inch thickness. Use a 3-inch round biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place biscuits onto a Silpat lined baking sheet.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the tops are golden.
